A grand jury will consider an indictment against a man accused of overpowering and sexually assaulting an acquaintance who had come to the house to watch his children.
Elias Bisine, 25, is charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy in connection with an incident that the alleged victim reported on Aug. 15.
Bisine was arrested Jan. 4 by the Bowling Green Police Department on a warrant.
Warren District Judge Kim Geoghegan bound Bisine’s case over to a grand jury Wednesday at the end of a preliminary hearing.
BGPD Detective Ryan Dillon testified that police responded Aug. 15 to the residence where the alleged assault took place and spoke with the woman, who reported that she was there to watch the children that her sister and Bisine have in common.
Dillon said that the woman reported that Bisine had previously made her uncomfortable by making inappropriate remarks and gestures toward her, and on the day of the alleged incident, he pulled her into a bedroom and sexually assaulted her.
When the woman’s sister returned to the home, she reported to her what allegedly occurred and they confronted Bisine.
Dillon testified that the women reported that Bisine ran out of the house “without much of his clothes on.”
“When I interviewed (Bisine’s) girlfriend, she advised that she believed her sister because, quote ‘my sister would never lie,'” Dillon said Wednesday.
Police attempted to locate Bisine at a number of addresses, and obtained an arrest warrant when they were unable to find him immediately.
The alleged victim was taken to The Medical Center for treatment, and police collected evidence from the residence.
Police located Grissom at a location on East 11th Avenue on Jan. 4 and arrested him.
“(Bisine) did not want to provide a statement, although he acted like he had no clue what we were talking about and that nothing happened,” Dillon said.
Bisine remains in Warren County Regional Jail under a $100,000 cash bond.
