‘Ant’ heats up for Dragons

Robert ‘Ant’ McAfee has been a reliable barometer for Warren Central’s boys’ basketball team this season.

When ‘Ant’ heats up, the Dragons will follow.

That’s just what happened in Tuesday’s 70-32 home win against Franklin-Simpson, when the 6-foot-6 senior scored 10 second-quarter points to help Central pull away after a sluggish start.

McAfee, a Bellarmine signee, finished with 24 points and eight rebounds.

“I started to heat up a little bit,” McAfee said. “I just had to get myself into it. Zero points in the first quarter – which is cool, I’m fine with that. But I got a couple layups, got myself going, started making jump shots. It worked out.”

Warren Central (13-1) visits District 14 rival Bowling Green on Friday.
