Western Kentucky’s softball program is already earning recognition in 2025 with Softball America announcing its 2025 Freshman Watch List on Tuesday as freshman infielder Charlotte Herron earned a spot on the list.
“Congratulations to Charlotte for receiving this preseason honor,” WKU coach Amy Tudor said in a news release. “She’s been a great addition to our team, and we look forward to her contributions as a freshman on and off the field this season.”
The 5-7 freshman from Huntsville, Alabama, joins the Hilltoppers after a successful senior season that included first team all-state, a .504 batting average, 14 home runs, only four strikeouts, a slugging percentage of .985 and 19 stolen bases.
Herron joins a WKU squad that is fresh off a trip to the Conference USA Championship game and a 33-20-1 season. Tudor’s squad also boasted the 2024 CUSA Defensive Player of the Year in TJ Webster and the 2024 CUSA Pitcher of the Year, Katie Gardner.
WKU will open its 2025 season in Atlanta on Feb. 7 with the home opener coming later that month, Feb. 21, against Bradley University.
