Tops get commitment from Nevada transfer Malotumau

Western Kentucky’s football team picked up another commitment for its incoming 2025 recruiting class over the weekend.

Nevada transfer defensive lineman Mackavelli Malotumau announced on his X (formerly Twitter) social media account that he has committed to the Hilltoppers.

This past season at Nevada as a junior, Malotumau played in 12 games and tallied 14 tackles with on quarterback hurry.

In 2023 with the Wolfpack, Malotumau saw action in seven games and totaled 11 tackles, one sack and two quarterback hurries.

A 6-foot-1, 281-pound native of Oceanside, California, Malotumau began his collegiate career at Utah Tech where he played in 10 games as a freshman in 2022, tallying eight tackles with three tackles for loss including a pair of sacks.

Former WKU defensive back Jaymar Mundy announced his commitment to Ohio University over the weekend. The Cincinnati native played in four games this past season for the Hilltoppers and totaled five tackles.

Mundy played just one season at WKU after transferring from Hutchinson Community College, where he spent two years after starting his collegiate career at Miami (Ohio).
