FRANKLIN — One person is dead after a collision in Franklin Sunday night, and the Kentucky State Police are investigating the accident.

Eric Green, 33, of Bowling Green, was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle collided with a Kenworth commercial vehicle on U.S. 31-W in front of the Flying J Travel Center.

According to a release from KSP, Green was travelling north on 31-W when the commercial vehicle, operated by Nugussee Yonathan, 29, of Burien, Washington, turned out of the Flying J and entered Green’s path.

KSP received the call at 7:27 p.m. and were assisted on-scene. by personnel from the Franklin Police Department, Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, Simpson County Fire Department, Simpson County EMS and the Simpson County Coroner’s Office.
