Hilltoppers announce 2025 softball schedule

Western Kentucky softball coach Amy Tudor announced the 2025 softball schedule on Wednesday.

The 53-game slate includes 24 games at the WKU Softball complex and five games against NCAA Tournament teams.

WKU opens its 26th season on the road at the Buzz Classic in Atlanta from Feb. 7-9. The Hilltoppers will play a total of five games there against Eastern Kentucky, Belmont and Georgia Tech. The following weekend, the Hilltoppers travel south once more to play in the Trojan Classic from Feb. 14-16 in Troy, Alabama, to take on Troy, Alabama State, Eastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri across five games.

The Hilltoppers open their home slate with the Hilltopper Classic from Feb. 21-23, featuring five games against Bradley, Toledo and Gardner-Webb. Five days later, the first NCAA Tournament opponent — Kentucky — visits WKU along with Tennessee Tech and Evansville for the final tournament of the 2025 season, the Hilltopper Spring Fling.

WKU opens Conference USA play on the road with a three-game series against Sam Houston State from March 7-9 in Huntsville, Texas before hosting a midweek bout against NCAA Tournament participant Ole Miss on March 11. Following that, the Hilltoppers will host the third NCAA Tournament participant, Liberty, for a three-game series March 16-18.

The Hilltoppers head to Texas once again to take on UTEP from March 21-23 before hosting Louisville in a midweek matchup on March 25. WKU returns to home from March 28-30 to host Louisiana Tech.

April marks the beginning of an eight-game road trip for the Hilltoppers, starting with Lipscomb on April 1. WKU will then head to the new CUSA opponent, Kennesaw State, from April 4-6 before going to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to take on Middle Tennessee from April 11-13. The eight-game road trip wraps up with a trip to Lexington with a midweek game against Kentucky.

WKU hosts another three-game series against New Mexico State from April 17-19 before embarking on another road trip starting with a game on April 22 against Louisville.

The Hilltoppers then head to Florida from April 25-27 to face Florida International for the last road series of the 2025 series before going to Richmond on April 29 to take on Eastern Kentucky.

WKU finishes its 2025 regular season with a three-game slate against Jacksonville State from May 2-4.

The 2024 CUSA Championship Tournament will be held at the WKU Softball Complex from May 7-10.
