Lawson comes up clutch

With her team trailing in the fourth quarter, Kennedy Lawson came up clutch in Warren East’s 53-51 win over South Warren on Monday at Warren East High School.

Lawson hit three 3-pointers in a 60-second span to help Warren East surge in front for the season-opening victory. The senior guard scored 11 of her team-high 21 points in the fourth quarter.

She said it was all about keeping her composure in the final quarter.

“Just got the (shot) up and not think about it too much,” Lawson said. “I feel like our experience helps us keep our composure.”

Warren East returns to action at Russell County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
