The Warren Central Dragons and the Franklin-Simpson Lady Cats enter the season at No. 1 in the Daily News Area Top 10.

Warren Central, the three-time defending Region 4 champion, has a narrow lead on the top spot with three first-place votes and 82 total points. Butler County, the defending Region 3 champion, is second with 81 points and four first-place votes. Bowling Green received two first-place votes and is third with 80 total points.

Barren County begins the season at fourth, with Warren East fifth.

Glasgow, Cumberland County, South Warren, Greenwood and Clinton County rounds out the boys’ poll.

Franklin-Simpson leads the way in the girls’ poll with 87 points and seven first-place votes. Bowling Green received the other two first-place votes and is second with 83 points.

Warren East begins the season at third, with Barren County fourth and Metcalfe County fifth.

Todd County Central, Edmonson County, Allen County-Scottsville, South Warren and Monroe County round out the girls’ poll.
