Madge Kettles Bailey

BOWLING GREEN – Madge Kettles Bailey, age 90, passed away Monday November 11, 2024 at Magnolia Village in Bowling Green, KY. The Barren County native was the daughter of the late Virgil Ray Kettles and Mazie Lorene Wilkerson Kettles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas R. Bailey, two brothers, James Kettles and Billy Kettles, one sister Linda Alford and one niece, Kristin Bolin.
Madge was a member of the State Street Methodist Church, where she had previously served on the Administrative Board. She was very much involved with her church and community, having served on the charter Commission for Urban County Government, vice president of the Bowling Green Woman’s Club (hospitality chairman and Program Chairman), Member of the Landmark Association, Member of the Kentucky Museum Association, Member of the Fountain Square Players, Junior Achievement Advisor, Heart Association Fund Raiser, Caveland Girl Scout Council, volunteer at the Medical Center, friends of the Library, WRECC meetings entertainment, Mark Kay Representative, volunteer Red Cross Nurse at Dishman McGinnis and volunteered with Kids on the Block.
Madge is survived by her daughters, Jo Carol Ford (Ronald) and Janet Bailey, sisters, Carolyn Douglas and Jozette Hayes (Aileen McCowan), brothers, Richard Kettles and Jeff Kettles, grandchildren, Katie, Kip, Shannon, Stephanie and Laura, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday November 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Saturday November 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM followed by burial in the Fairview Cemetery #1.
