Bowling Green senior Kathryn Harris may be saving her best running in her high school career for last.

Harris, who recently committed to run at Western Kentucky, earned a second-place finish in Saturday’s Class 3A, Region 2 meet in Cecilia. She finished with a time of 18 minutes, 47.89 seconds to earn the highest region finish in her career.

“It was definitely awesome,” Harris said. “Last year I got fourth in the region. At the time, that was really big for me. So coming into this year, especially my senior year, and getting to be the runner-up was a huge accomplishment.”

Harris now sets her sights on this weekend’s state meet at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
