Hattie Steen performs with her horse “Clearly Perfect” in the junior 5-gaited show pleasure championship at the World Championship Horse Show at the Kentucky State Fair.

Woodford County High School senior Hattie Steen, granddaughter of Mike and Jennifer Steen of Bowling Green, won the title Reserve World Champion with her Saddlebred “Clearly Perfect” (farm name “Charlie), in the junior 5-gaited show pleasure championship at the World Championship Horse Show held at the Kentucky State Fair on Aug. 17.

The show is considered the sport’s most prestigious and competitive event.

Steen attended the Governor’s School of the Arts this summer and is an officer in the Beta Club and National Honor Society.

She also participates in Ribbons of Service, a charity program of the National Professional Horseman’s Association headquartered in Midway.
