37th annual cleanup day returning to Barren River Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold the 37th Annual Lakeshore Cleanup Day at Barren River Lake on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
According to a press release from USACE, volunteer crews will meet at boat ramps at Bailey’s Point, The Narrows, State Park and Port Oliver and Walnut Creek.

The event this year is sponsored by Scott Waste and is being organized with Friends of Barren River Lake & Park and Barren River Lake State Resort Park, according to the release. Lunch will be provided for volunteers and prize giveaways will take place.
Pontoon boats will be used on the lake to transport volunteers to and from the shoreline. Volunteers who provide boats that day will be given a $50 gift card to help offset fuel costs, according to the release.
