Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Alvaton will celebrate its pastor’s 15-year anniversary on Sunday. There will be no morning service. The afternoon service will begin at 1 p.m. Lunch will be served upon the arrival of afternoon guests, the Rev. Brian Hogg and Alpha Baptist Church from Franklin. The Rev. Peter K. Williams is pastor. 

Cecelia Memorial Presbyterian Church will have its 5th annual fall community giveaway, which will include clothing, household items, small electronics, plants, toys and more, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at 716 College St. For more information or donations, contact Lovelyn at (619) 368-2103.

The Garmons will sing at 10 a.m. Sunday for homecoming services at Coffey’s Chapel Community Church at 3955 Ky. 76 in Russell Springs; at 6 p.m. Sept. 15 at Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 1150 Fairview Ave.; and at 10 a.m. Sept. 22 at Portland General Baptist Church in Portland, Tennessee, at 10 W. Market St.

The Kentucky Evangelist Gospel Music Fellowship will host a gospel music gathering at 6 p.m. Saturday at McDonald’s just off of Hwy. 231 in Beaver Dam. For more information, email truesong777@gmail.com.

Midstate Quartet will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday at Martinsville Missionary Baptist Church. 

Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church, 9578 Caneyville Road at Welch’s Creek between Morgantown and Caneyville, will have its 5th Sunday Singing and meal at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 29. For His Glory will be the featured gospel singers.
