Auditions for the NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet will be held Sept. 18 for local dance students ages 6-17 at SKyPAC, in partnership with SOKY Dance Arts.

Children will be cast as Party Children, Mice, Little Snowflakes, Star Sprites, Star Maidens and junior corps de ballet for the Act II Spanish, Chinese, French, Arabian and Slavic variations.

All costumes will be provided by the company.

Following the initial rehearsal period, the children’s cast will rehearse prior to the show for six to eight weeks at SOKY Dance Arts.

The dancers will be fitted for hand-sewn costumes on Nov. 25, the day of the performance, followed by a dress rehearsal and the performance.

There is no instruction fee, but a minimum $50 participation fee is required from all youth dancers to cover the cost of costume maintenance and other related administrative costs.
