Watson named Fellow by Infectious Diseases Society of America

Dr. Patricia Tellez Watson, an infectious disease and travel medicine specialist at The Medical Center at Bowling Green, has been named a Fellow by the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

Fellowship in IDSA, one of the highest honors in the field of infectious diseases, recognizes distinguished physicians and scientists from the United States and around the world who have achieved professional excellence and provided significant service to the profession.

Dr. Tellez Watson is a graduate of Cayetano Heredia School of Medicine in Peru and completed her residency at Johns Hopkins/Sinai Hospital of Baltimore Internal Medicine Program and fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Applicants for IDSA Fellowship must be nominated by their peers and meet specified criteria that include continuing identification in the field of infectious diseases, national or regional recognition and publication of their scholarly work.
