A grand jury has returned an indictment against a Bowling Green man arrested in connection with a shooting at the Muse apartment complex.
Donavan Taylor Jordan, 23, was formally charged with first-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief, tampering with physical evidence and leaving the scene of an accident.
The Bowling Green Police Department developed Jordan as a suspect in the April 30 shooting that left Kylien Baker, 24, with gunshot wounds to his right thumb and right shin.
Another person, Devin Miles, 25, was injured in the incident and treated for a wound in his left Achilles tendon, according to a police report.
Baker told city police that Jordan had worked for him previously as a DJ and had accused him of taking a bag of marijuana, the report said.
On the day of the incident, Baker told Jordan he did not have the marijuana and then saw Jordan parked outside his apartment at the Russellville Road complex.
Baker eventually went outside to confront Jordan, during which Jordan produced a gun and began shooting, the police report said.
Miles told police he was leaving the complex to pick up his girlfriend when he noticed the argument between Baker and Jordan.
“Miles stated he walked over to where they were arguing and attempted to tell Jordan neither him nor Baker has his bag of weed that he is accusing them of stealing,” the report said. “Miles stated Jordan produced a handgun and began to shoot at both him and Baker.”
While driving away from the scene, Jordan reportedly struck a parked vehicle at the complex, according to the report.
Jordan remained at large until May 1, when he was taken into custody by the Tennessee Highway Patrol on a warrant that charged him only with first-degree assault.
City police said that Jordan was found on Interstate 40 and booked into jail in Tennessee.
He was eventually extradited to Kentucky, and has remained in Warren County Regional Jail since May 20, where he is held under a $50,000 cash bond.
Jordan is due to be arraigned in court Monday before Warren Circuit Judge Chris Cohron.
