Allen County-Scottsville senior Eli Stamper was named the Bluegrass Golf Tour Junior Series Player of the Year in the boys’ 15-18 age division on Wednesday.

It is the second straight year Stamper has won the award. He amassed 1,006.5 points on the BGT circuit, earned seven victories with a top 5 finish at the Cullan Brown Invitational, but the decisive points were earned with a victory at the Tour Championship to hold off Prospect’s Graham Schmidt for the second straight year.

All BGT player of the year winners will receive a trophy, and the 18-hole division and 12 & under 9-hole divisions will receive their awards during the Bluegrass Cup banquet on Nov. 2.

Stamper receives an exemption to advance to the team Match Play portion of the Kentucky Central Championship on Oct. 26-27 at Campbellsville Country Club. The Kentucky Central Championship has open registration with exempt and non-exempt participants playing 18-hole of stroke play on the first day to determine qualifiers and teams advancing to match play on the second day of competition. Non-qualifiers complete 18-holes of stroke play on the second day.

A total of 44 players will receive an invitation to compete in the Bluegrass Cup scheduled on Nov. 2-3 at CrossWinds Golf Course. The top 8 class of 2024 or younger players in the boys’ 15-18, girls’ 15-18, boys’ 12-14, and girls’ 14 & under divisions plus the top 4 players in the boys’ 11-12, boys’ 10 & under, and girls’ 12 & under divisions earn an invitation to participate in this Ryder Cup style event.
