1925 building spree announced near factory

The Daily News reported on July 15, 1925, that a building boom had started near the new tobacco factory.

W.C. Morris built six houses he planned to rent to employees of the factory. Three of the houses would be furnished with bathrooms, and three would not.

“W.C. Morris today began the building of six cottages at the corner of Fifth and Park Streets in the vicinity of the old Hendricks Tobacco Factory where the new industry will be located,” according to a DN article.
