Brown takes second at GO’s Southern Series Championship

Bowling Green’s Johnny Brown claimed runner-up honors in the boys’ 13-15 age division at the GO Junior Golf Series’ Southern Series Championship on Thursday at Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.

Brown carded a 10-over par 81 to finish four shots behind Harned’s Lemuel Wright. Brown finished as the Southern Series’ second flight winner.

Morgantown’s Cooper Embry, who finished sixth on Thursday with an 87, earned Tour runner-up honors.

Rockfield’s Knox Potter tied for first in the boys’ 9-10 division on Thursday with a 29, equaling Madisonville’s Sawyer Stanley. Potter finished as the Tour’s first flight runner-up. Bowling Green’s Carver Perry was fifth on Thursday with a 34 and was named the first flight’s third-place finisher.

In the boys’ 16-18 division, Bowling Green’s Brady Patterson was fifth on Thursday with an 82 and Bowling Green’s Miles Deaton was eighth with an 84.
