The Allen County-Scottsville announced Chris Roy as the new girls’ golf coach on Wednesday.

Roy came to Allen County-Scottsville last year as a physical education/health educator and an assistant coach for the girls’ basketball team. Before relocating to Kentucky he was a state championship golf coach in Georgia.

“I am very honored and humbled to be named the head coach of the Lady Patriot golf team at ACS,” Roy said in a statement. “I would like to thank Principal Shane Humphrey, Athletic Director Brad Hood, and Assistant AD Cameron Cook for this amazing opportunity as well as their trust in me to lead this program.  I am very excited to get to know the girls and get the season going with them.  We will work hard to represent ACS and our community and give them a product to be proud of.”

Roy’s golf resume includes guiding Lambert High School to the Class 7A state championship in 2019, with a roster that included future Western Kentucky golfer Averi Cline.

He inherits a Lady Patriot team coming off a strong 2023 season. Juniors Alison Ford and Kennedy Carter earned spots in the first round of the KHSAA state championship tournament and finished fifth out of 10 teams in the Region 3 Tournament. Allen County-Scottsville finished as fourth in the 2A state championship, winning the 2A, Section 2 championship.
