Glasgow’s Jackson wins BGT Junior Series combo title

Glasgow’s Griffin Jackson tied for first place in the boys’ 15-18 age division of the Bluegrass Golf Tour Junior Series Combo Regional No. 9 that wrapped up with Tuesday’s second round at Willow Oaks Golf Course in Glasgow.
Jackson carded a two-day total of 1-over par 142 to tie for first-place honors with Louisville’s Brooks Cole. Scottsville’s Eli Stamper finished in third place, two shots back with a 144.

Bowling Green’s Johnny Brown and Ryan Loiars tied for sixth after both totaled 152, and Bowling Green’s Brady Patterson was eighth with a 154. Russellville’s Riley Shepherd and Davis Switzer, Woodburn’s Carson Smith and Alvaton’s Connor Baer tied for 10th after all carded a two-day 156.
Other area players included Bowling Green’s Brady Hightower (16th, 165), Bowling Green’s Micah Page (17th, 166), Adolphus’ Owen Talbott (18th, 173), Bowling Green’s Keegan Unick (19th, 176) and Glasgow’s Jacob Spence (20th, 194).
Glasgow’s Jase Cook won Tuesday’s final round at Willow Oaks with a 3-under 68. Scottsville’s Eli Stamper tied for second with a 72 and Jackson was fourth with a 73. Brown (eighth, 76), Shepherd (tied for ninth, 77) and Baer (tied for ninth, 77) also finished in the boys’ 15-18 top 10.
Bowling Green’s Eli Wade won the boys’ 12-14 division combo championship with a two-day total of 2-under 139. Bowling Green’s Adrian Bewley was third with a 142, Bowling Green’s Sully Baer finished fourth with a 163, Glasgow’s J.P. Ross was fifth with a 169 and Bowling Green’s Ezra Page was sixth with a 171.
Bewley tallied the low score in Tuesday’s second round with a 3-under 68. Wade was next with a 72.
Bowling Green’s John Miller Wade finished second in the boys’ 11-12 (9-hole) combo standings with a combined 20-over 91. Scottsville’s Simon Stamper was third with a 97 and Glasgow’s Wyatt Morgan was fourth with a 108.

Glasgow’s Tucker Garrett posted the best finish by an area player in the 11-12 (9-hole) division Tuesday, finishing second with a 6-over 42.
Bowling Green’s Ally Jean Stephens finished second in the girls’ 12 and under (9-hole) combo standings with an 18-over 88, and finished first in Tuesday’s second round with a 6-over 41.
Bowling Green’s Ollie Donnelly was second in the boys’ 10 and under (9-hole) combo standings with a 25-over 95. Glasgow’s Keegan Jackson won Tuesday’s 10 and under (9-hole) round at Willow Oaks with a 6-over 41.
Bowling Green’s Elsie Espinola tied for fourth in the girls’ 15-18 combo standings after carding a combined 21-over 163. Scottsville’s Lucy Zalla was sixth with a 173, Glasgow’s Chloe Witcher and Scottsville’s Ella Anderson tied for seventh at 174 and Bowling Green’s Mary Douglas Childers was ninth with a 176.
