BOWLING GREEN – Autumn Carol McCormack passed away July 4, 2024 peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 22, 1940 to Dr. and Mrs. W.R. McCormack.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Patricia Carol Robertson, and son, William Douglas Robertson.

Carol lived in Bowling Green, Kentucky for most of her life. She attended College High from kindergarten through high school graduation. She continued her education at Western Kentucky University, Indiana University and Peabody College.

At the age of 72, Carol moved to Griffin, Georgia to be close to her family.

She is survived by one son, Stuart Emory Schroeter (Meredith) of Jackson, Georgia and her grandchildren, Anna Leigh Schroeter of Griffin and Stuart Carol Schroeter of Athens.

Carol was always busy with the arts. She and Dr. Russel Miller started The Alley Playhouse in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She also served on the board of Actors Theatre of Louisville, Horse Cave Theatre, and two terms on the Kentucky Arts Council. Carol loved to travel, read, play bridge, needlepoint, and acting. She enjoyed being with friends and all of her cats.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Main Street Players in Griffin, Georgia or to New Beginnings Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation in Alvaton, Kentucky. Cremation was chosen. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green in the McCormack family plot.
