Scottsville’s Stamper wins BGT event at Crosswinds

Scottsville’s Eli Stamper claimed a two-stroke victory in the boys’ 15-18 age division at Wednesday’s Bluegrass Golf Tour Junior Series event at Crosswinds Golf Course.

Stamper carded a 1-under par 71 to earn medalist honors.

Russellville’s Davis Switzer and Glasgow’s Braeden Furlong tied for second after both shot 1-over 73, while Bowling Green’s Johnny Brown took fourth with a 75 and three players – Franklin’s Dai’Shaun Flippin, Bowling Green’s Ryan Loiars and Elkton’s Noah Rager – tied for fifth at 76.

A quartet of Bowling Green golfers rounded out the top 10 – Brady Patterson (78), Miles Deaton (79), Keegan Unick (81) and Micah Page (81).

Scottsville’s Peyton West was 12th with an 86, followed by Russellville’s Karson Rodgers with an 88.

Bowling Green’s Garrard Sparks (98) and Scottsville’s Kaden Stinson (103) were also among area players in the field.

Bowling Green’s Elsie Espinola took runner-up honors in the girls’ 15-18 division with an 8-over 80, one shot behind Henderson’s Meryl Grogan.

Scottsville’s Ella Anderson was third with an 88, followed by Bowling Green’s Mary Douglas Childers in fourth (92). Franklin’s Chloe Chaney was seventh with a 97 and Bowling Green’s Amy Tomblinson was eighth with a 104.

Bowling Green’s Adrian Bewley won the boys’ 12-14 division by four strokes after shooting 2-under 70. Bowling Green’s Ezra Page was third with an 87, followed by Glasgow’s J.P. Ross (89) and Bowling Green’s Luke Usinger (91) and Nicholas Morris (96).

Scottsville’s Simon Stamper tied with Frankfort’s Patterson Graves for first in the boys’ 11-12 (9-hole) division at 8-over 44, with Glasgow’s Wyatt Morgan taking third with a 51.

Bowling Green’s Darby Meredith won the girls’ 13-18 (9-hole) division by a stroke with a 22-over 58, while BG’s Ollie Donnelly won the boys’ 10 and under (9-hole) division with a 12-over 48.

Riley Miller of Bowling Green was second in the girls’ 14 and under division after shooting a 17-over 88.

In the girls’ 12 and under (9-hole) division, Bowling Green’s Annalise Morgan and Ally Jean Stephens tied for second after both shot 6-over 42.
