Scottsville’s Stamper wins BGT Junior Series combo regional

Scottsville’s Eli Stamper claimed medalist honors in the boys’ 15-18 age division in the Bluegrass Golf Tour Junior Series Combo Regional No. 6 following Tuesday’s final round at Franklin Country Club.
After winning his division in Monday’s opening round at Kenny Perry’s Country Creek Golf Club with a 1-under par 70, Stamper again won Tuesday by four strokes with a 2-over par 73 at Franklin CC.

Bowling Green’s Miles Deaton took runner-up honors in the boys’ 15-18 combo standings with a 14-over 156, with Bowling Green’s Ryan Loiars (158), Scottsville’s Blayne Moore (160) and Bowling Green’s Brady Hightower (166) rounding out the top five.
Franklin’s Will Speed and Woodburn’s Carson Smith tied for sixth after both shot a combined 167, Russellville’s Riley Shepherd was ninth with a 172, Scottsville’s Peyton West and Franklin’s Alan Johnson tied for 10th (176), Franklin’s Hunter Speed and Russellville’s Davis Switzer tied for 12th (176), Bowling Green’s Keegan Unick was 14th (177) and Owen Talbott of Adolphus was 15th (178).
In Tuesday’s round at Franklin CC, Deaton finished second behind Stamper with a 77, Moore was third with a 79, Bowling Green’s Johnny Brown took fourth with an 80, Loiars tied for fifth with an 81, Smith and Hightower tied for eighth after both shot 83, Unick, Shepherd and Switzer tied for 11th after each carded an 86, Talbott and West tied for 14th with 87s, Will Speed and Hunter Speed tied for 16th with 88s and Johnson was 18th with a 91.
Bowling Green’s Elsie Espinola took runner-up honors in the girls’ 15-18 division with a combined 18-over 161, nine strokes behind medalist Kenzie Willen of Burkesville. Scottsville’s Lucy Zalla was third with a 165, followed by Franklin’s Chloe Chaney (176), Bowling Green’s Stella Forney (178) and Scottsville’s Ella Anderson (181).
Espinola took second in Tuesday’s final round with a 9-over 80, followed by Zalla (85) and Forney (89). Chaney was sixth with a 92, followed by Anderson (93) and Auburn’s Emma Fitzgerald (100).
Bowling Green’s Paxton Fuqua won the boys’ 12-14 combo title by nine strokes with a 14-over 156. Bowling Green’s Eli Wade took runner-up honors with a 165, followed by Glasgow’s J.P. Ross (181) and Bowling Green’s Nicholas Morris (203).

Fuqua won Tuesday’s round at Franklin with a 9-over 80, with Bowling Green’s Adrian Bewley taking runner-up honors with an 83. Wade was next with an 85, followed by Ross (95) and Morris (106).
Bowling Green’s Ellie Morgan won the girls’ 14 and under division with a combined 25-over 168, good for a nine-shot victory. Morgan finished play in the combo with a first-place finish on Tuesday, shooting an 87 for a one-stroke win.
Glasgow’s Wyatt Morgan claimed first-place honors in the combo’s 11-12 (9 hole) division with a combined 97, good for a one-stroke win over Scottsville’s Simpon Stamper (97-98). Morgan carded a 14-over 50 on Tuesday, with Stamper shooting a 52.
Bowling Green’s Darby Meredith won the girls’ 13-18 (9 hole) division with a combined 47-over 119, including shooting a 56 on Tuesday.
Bowling Green’s Annalise Morris won the girls’ 12 and under (9 hole) division with a combined 18-over 90, including carding a 48 in Tuesday’s final round.
Carver Perry of Bowling Green finished second in the boys’ 10 and under (9 hole) division on Tuesday at Franklin CC with a 24-over 60.
