Scottsville’s Eli Stamper claims BGT win in Franklin

Scottsville’s Eli Stamper claimed a five-stroke win in the boys’ 15-18 division Monday in a Bluegrass Golf Tour Junior Series event held at Kenny Perry’s Country Creek Golf Club in Franklin.
Stamper carded a 1-under par 70 to win his division. Bowling Green’s Ryan Loiars was third with a 77, Franklin’s Will Speed and Bowling Green’s Miles Deaton tied for fourth with 79s, Scottsville’s Blayne Moore was sixth with an 80, Franklin’s Alan Johnson and Bowling Green’s Brady Hightower tied for seventh with 83s, and Woodburn’s Carson Smith tied for ninth with an 84 to round out the top 10.

Russellville’s Riley Shepherd (11th, 86), Scottsville’s Peyton West (12th, 87), Franklin’s Hunter Speed (13th, 88), Russellville’s Davis Switzer (14th, 90), Adolphus’s Owen Talbott and Bowling Green Keegan Unick (tied for 15th, 91s) also competed in the event.
Bowling Green’s Sydney McClanahan took runner-up honors in the girls’ 15-18 division with a 4-over 76. Scottsville’s Lucy Zalla was third with an 80, Bowling Green’s Elsie Espinola was fourth with an 81 and Franklin’s Chloe Chaney rounded out the top five with an 84 to finish fifth.
Scottsville’s Ella Anderson was sixth with an 88, Bowling Green’s Stella Forney was seventh with an 89, Bowling Green’s Caroline Childers was ninth with a 93, BG’s Amy Tomblinson was 10th with a 94 and BG’s Mary Douglas Childers was 11th with a 95.
Bowling Green’s Paxton Fuqua won the boys’ 12-14 division with a 5-over 76, with Bowling Green’s Eli Wade taking runner-up honors with an 80. Glasgow’s J.P. Ross was third with an 86, followed by Bowling Green’s Nicholas Morris (97) and Scottsville’s Lincoln Zalla (110).
Ellie Morgan of Bowling Green won the girls’ 14 and under division with a 9-over 81.
Bowling Green’s Darby Meredith won the girls’ 13-18 (9-hole) division with a 27-over 63, while BG’s Annalise Morris wason the girls’ 12 & under (9-hole) division with a 6-over 42.

Scottsville’s Simon Stamper tied for first in the boys’ 11-12 (9-hole) division with a 10-over 46, with Glasgow’s Wyatt Morgan a shot back with a 47 to finish third.
Bowling Green’s Ollie Donnelly finished second in the boys’ 10 and under (9-hole) division with a 14-over 50.
GO Junior Golf Series
Morgantown’s Cooper Embry clamed a one-stroke victory in the boys’ 13-15 division at Monday’s GO Junior Golf Series event held at Hillcrest Golf Course in Owensboro.
Embry fired a 13-over 83 to win his division.
Bowling Green’s Carver Perry turned in a fourth-place finish in the boys’ 9-10 (6-hole) division after shooting 32 for the tournament.
