Scottsville’s Rutledge wins BGT event at Bowling Green Country Club

Barton Rutledge of Allen County-Scottsville tees off on No. 15 in the boys’ Bowling Green Invitational Tournament at the Bowling Green Country Club in 2023.

Scottsville’s Barton Rutledge fired a 1-under par 71 to claim a one-stroke win in the boys’ 15-18 age division in Monday’s Bluegrass Golf Tour Junior Series event held at Bowling Green Country Club.

Glasgow’s Jase Cook took runner-up honors in the division after shooting an even-par 72.

Bowling Green’s Johnny Brown and Scottsville’s Eli Stamper tied for fifth after both carded 77s, and Scottsville’s Blayne Moore and Bowling Green’s Ryan Loiars tied for 10th after both carded an 83.

Other area players competing included Glasgow’s Braeden Furlong (tied for 14th, 84), Bowling Green’s Micah Page (17th, 86), Russellville’s Karson Rodgers (18th, 87), Alvaton’s Connor Baer (tied for 19th, 88), Bowling Green’s Brady Hightower (tied for 19th, 88), Scottsville’s Peyton West (25th, 93), Bowling Green’s Garrard Sparks (tied for 26th, 94) and Franklin’s Alan Johnson (tied for 26th, 94).

Scottsville’s Simon Stamper took first in the boys’ 11-12 (9-hole) division with a 13-over 49 and Bowling Green’s Darby Meredith was first in the girls’ 13-18 (9-hole) division with a 25-over 61.

Bowling Green’s Eli Wade claimed runner-up honors in the boys’ 12-14 division with a 6-over 78. Bowling Green’s Ezra Page was fifth with a 93 and Scottsville’s Lincoln Zalla was sixth with a 108.

In the girls’ 12 and under (9-hole) division, Bowling Green’s Annalise Morris finished second with a 10-over 46. Bowling Green’s Ally Jean Stephens was next with a 50 and Bowling Green’s Saanvi Aravantagi finished fourth with a 51.

Bowling Green’s Elsie Espinola finished fourth in the girls’ 15-18 division with a 15-over 87. Glasgow’s Chloe Witcher was fifth with an 89, Franklin’s Chloe Chaney was seventh with a 100, Scottsville’s Lucy Zalla was eighth with a 101 and Scottsville’s Ella Anderson was ninth with a 102.
