Med Center Health is set to acquire the 75-bed Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, adding to MCH’s Southcentral Kentucky health care network.
MCH will also obtain three medical office buildings on Logan Memorial’s campus, along with rural health clinics located in Russellville, Auburn and Elkton, according to a release from MCH.

Terms of the deal were not released.
“We’re certainly privileged to have the opportunity to partner with Logan Memorial Hospital and for them to become part of Med Center Health,” David Gray, executive vice president for MCH, said in a Wednesday press conference.
Med Center Health already maintains a presence in Logan County, Gray said, including the outpatient Orthopedics Plus Physical Therapy and through partnerships with Russellville Independent Schools and Logan County Schools to provide athletic training services.
“This is really kind of building upon those relationships that we’ve had for a number of years with Logan County,” he said.
Gray said current employees at Logan Memorial, about 200, will need to apply for positions after the acquisition is finalized. He said this is done any time a new entity is acquired by MCH, and it does not mean some positions will be lost.
Additionally, Gray said there will be no change in services provided at Logan Memorial.

“It’s really going to be about strengthening what is already there,” he said.
Logan Memorial is currently owned by national hospital operator ScionHealth.
The facility, which will be known as The Medical Center at Russellville, currently serves around 45,000 people and will join MCH’s other locations in Franklin, Caverna, Albany and Scottsville, along with its main health care campus in Bowling Green.
“We are confident that Med Center Health’s breadth and depth of care services will best serve the local community as they seek to expand services and offer the resources of the most comprehensive health system in the region,” Kamal Singh, a physician and board member for Logan Memorial, said in the release. “We believe that Med Center Health has the tools and resources to provide exceptional patient care in the near term and well into the future.”
The acquisition is anticipated for July 1.
