The world’s largest traveling car show is making its way to Vette City.

Motortrend’s Hot Rod Power Tour is set to start its engines June 10 at Beech Bend Raceway, beginning the event’s 30th anniversary tour. This will be the tour’s first appearance in Bowling Green since 2017.

“It’s a casual day of fun,” Hot Rod Network Director Mike Galimi said. “There’s a little bit of everything that you could spend a couple hours the whole day enjoying the automotive lifestyle.”

The event will include drag racing, auto cross, shred fest, live entertainment and a meet and greet with MotorTrend talents, including “Hot Rod Garage” host Lucky Costa and David Newbern and Mike Cotten from “Faster with Newbern and Cotten.” It will also host over 6,000 cars per day, displaying “some of the most unique cars ever,” according to Galimi.

The tour will make its way to four other cities from June 11-14 following its appearance at Beech Bend Raceway. Galimi says Bowling Green was a “large car community” suited to kickoff the 2024 stretch.

“The town is really such a great car town,” Galimi said. “The local citizens and surrounding areas really do support a lot that goes on at Beech Bend Raceway.”

Spectators can register for the event for free at hotrodpowertour.us. Single day $60 passes or $160 multi-day passes can be bought on the same website for those who want giveaway items and onsite parking.

According to Galimi, the tour is expecting 15,000-20,000 spectators per day.
