A retired Green River ferryboat in 2000 got a new career at Edmonson County High School.

The Daily News on May 23, 2000, reported that the old ferryboat built in 1968 would be replaced by a new ferryboat and the old one would be donated to the high school.

The boat would be used for various projects, including welding training using the boat’s steel beam and lighter hull metal.
