Raccoon puts damper on American Idol drama

Die-hard American Idol fans on the edge of their seats during the Season 2 episode determining the final two contestants were undoubtedly crushed to find their electricity unceremoniously cut off from 8:35 p.m. to 9 p.m. May 14, 2003.

The following day, the Daily News revealed the dastardly culprit to be a raccoon, who caused a breaker to flip and cut power to nearly 10,000 people. Undoubtedly, the raccoon was a fan of Nashville native Kimberly Locke, who was eliminated that night.
