Bowling Green circus gets a 1966 DN preview

The Daily News on May 1, 1966, reported that the King Brothers three-ring circus would perform on May 3 at Lampkin Park.

It would set up a tent city for the close to 100 people who traveled with the circus through 20 states and 200 cities. The circus, founded by Floyd and Howard King in 1919 as the Sanger’s Great European Show, featured a world famous herd of Go-Go elephants.

Their show went by several names before simply becoming the King Brothers Circus in 1946.
