Three Dog Night to perform at SKyPAC May 2; tickets now on sale

Three Dog Night will perform at 7 p.m. May 2 at SKyPAC. Tickets are now on sale.

Three Dog Night, the group known for the No. 1 hit singles “Joy to the World” and “Mama Told Me (Not to Come),” is coming to Bowling Green in May.

Tickets are now on sale for the performance scheduled for 7 p.m. May 2 at the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center.

“We are thrilled to host the legendary band Three Dog Night at SKyPAC,” said Makenzie Belcher, marketing assistant for Arts of Southern Kentucky. “The reception from the public upon sharing this exciting news has been fantastic.”

The Grammy-nominated group had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, including three No. 1 singles, 11 top 10s and 18 top 20s, with seven singles selling 1 million or more copies.

Some of the group’s other well-known hits include “Black and White,” “Shambala” and “An Old Fashioned Love Song.”

From 1969-74, Three Dog Night achieved more top 10 hits, moved more records and sold more concert tickets than any other act, according to information from an Arts of Southern Kentucky press release.

The band continues to stay busy with a full schedule of concerts at theaters performing arts center, fairs, corporate events, festivals and casinos.

The band, created by Danny Hutton in 1968, has performed more than 3,000 times, including at two Super Bowls.

The band’s hits appeared on best seller charts in rock, pop and country genres and were popular in Japan, Canada, Holland, England, Germany and Spain.

“Three Dog Night has been growing and expanding upon their talent for nearly six decades, remaining a special force in the music industry throughout these years,” Belcher said. “The fact that they are bringing their hits our way in May is something we are looking forward to experiencing.”
