South Warren sophomore guard McLaine Hudson provided a huge spark for the Spartans in Monday’s 66-39 win over Greenwood in the opening round of the District 14 Girls’ Basketball Tournament.

Hudson scored a game-high 21 points, setting the tone with 15 points in the first half to help the Spartans take a commanding 16-point lead and cruise from there.

“Just for me, I am super competitive,” Hudson said. “Obviously I don’t want to go home. I want to win every single game. I want to win ping-pong if I am playing it. My teammates were able to get me open and I was super happy to get going early.”

South Warren will host Bowling Green in the District 14 championship at 6 p.m. Thursday.
