Police tied Cannon to an incident that occurred on Sheppard Court around 2:20 p.m.

According to BGPD, a locksmith traveled to a Sheppard Court address for a service call, and was approached by a man who brandished a gun and demanded items.

The locksmith reported that he was struck in the face with the gun and that some of his tools were stolen, with a second person also assaulting him, an arrest citation said.

Both suspects then ran toward McDivit Court, and the locksmith gave police a physical description of the two men.

Police determined that the locksmith had been called to the location by a phone number belonging to someone residing on McDivit Court, and officers detained Cannon at the McDivit Court address.

“Inside of the residence officers located a firearm, clothing that matched both suspects and property belonging to the victim,” Cannon’s arrest citation said.

Police have identified the second suspect and have applied for an arrest warrant, BGPD said.

Cannon was placed in Warren County Regional Jail under a $25,000 cash bond.
