On Feb. 19, 2003, the Warren County Public Library embraced a new platform of welcoming joyful noise within its typically hushed walls by hosting Glasgow country/rock band Pride & Joy.
The Daily News reported that the concert was part of the library’s Southern Expression series, highlighting “the unique way Southerners express themselves.”
Library Assistant Director Lisa Rice hoped that the event would “shed the traditional silent treatment” often associated with libraries and help encourage people to see libraries as fun places for entertainment and information, as well as for books.
