On Jan. 24, 1922, the Park City Daily News announced the Bowling Green Dog Show: “The crowning event of the local dogdom social season.”
Participants were advised to arrive on leash and be on their best behavior. Pedigree was unimportant, but costuming – the more elaborate, the better – was highly encouraged.
Human companions (16 years and up) were invited for entertainment at the Diamond Theater after the conclusion of the canine festivities. A later article touted the event a huge success; alas, no photos of the furry competitors were included.
