BOWLING GREEN – Larry William Gibbs, 81, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024 in his home. He was born in Bowling Green on July 16, 1942 to the late Earmine C. Gibbs. Sr. & Ruby May Spry Gibbs.
Larry owned and operated Nation-Wide Advertising and Today’s Youth. He served in the US Navy and was a past Master of the Halfway Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He is a faithful member of the Friendship Community Church.
Along with his parents, Larry is proceeded in death by three Brothers, Earmine C. Gibbs Jr., George P. Gibbs, & James F. Gibbs; Two Sisters, Mildred Charlton & Mary Ford; Father & Mother in law, Buddy & Mary Elizabeth Croslin. Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Tara Sue Croslin Gibbs of Alvaton; Five children: Laura Valdez (Jesse) of Marysville, WA; Scotty Lee Gibbs (Deanna) of Bowling Green, William Ryan Gibbs of Bowling Green, Tracy Dawn Burckhard (Chris) of Hendersonville, TN, & Larry W. Gibbs Jr. (Lyn Mayes) of Alvaton. 11 Grandchildren: Elissa Valdez of Marysville, WA, Tara Coomer (Jessie) of Bowling Green, Sara Razo (Christian) of Marysville, WA, Hayden (Andria) Gibbs of Bowling Green, Dawson (Cateryn) Gibbs of Crestview, FL, Nicki Gibbs of Oakland, Zachary, Noah & Elijah Burckhard of Hendersonville, TN, Lillian Elizabeth Gibbs of Bowling Green, & Jalen William Gibbs (Papa’s Little Buddy) of Alvaton; Eight Great-Grandchildren; a Brother, Thomas C. Gibbs (Sharon) of Franklin; & a sister, Helen Lovan of Rineyville, KY; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 2 pm at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 3 pm until 7 pm, and again on Wednesday from 9 am until service time.
