Two Bowling Green residents were indicted in connection with a shooting two months ago on Magnolia Street that injured one person.

They are accused of involvement in a Nov. 2 incident outside a Magnolia Street house in which several gunshots were fired and Kadin Jeffreys was struck in the foot by gunfire.

The incident was investigated by the Bowling Green Police Department, which recovered about 40 shell casings from outside the property in the aftermath of the shooting.

BGPD Detective Sean Johnson testified at a Warren District Court hearing in November that police spoke with Jeffreys’ mother, who reported pulling into her driveway and being met that night by three males who demanded to know where Jeffreys was and drew firearms.

When Jeffreys emerged from inside the house, the three people fired toward him, Sean Johnson said.

Jeffreys’ mother said the three males wore masks, but she identified Wilson and Zion Johnson as two of the shooters, disclosing to police that Johnson and Jeffreys had fought one another at the house that morning.

“They were involved in a physical altercation over money or possibly drugs,” Sean Johnson said, adding that Jeffreys’ mother intervened and was hurt, leading to a response from city police and EMS.

Police located Wilson after speaking to his mother, and he turned himself in at BGPD headquarters after speaking with police over the phone.

Sean Johnson testified that Wilson denied involvement in the shooting and was not present on Magnolia Street at the time.

Zion Johnson turned himself in the next day and gave no statement to detectives.

Police have not been able to establish who was responsible for shooting Jeffreys.

Zion Johnson and Wilson remain in Warren County Regional Jail under $45,000 cash bonds and are set to be arraigned Monday by Warren Circuit Judge Chris Cohron.
