When the Sunday paper arrives in the mail on Saturday, my wife and I put it aside for Sunday morning.

The first thing we turn to are two columns we never miss: Sean Dietrich and Joe Imel. The paper’s general manager is always fun and thought provoking with his remembrances. His years in Bowling Green are chock full of great memories of events in sports and news.

We also wouldn’t miss the Dietrich column in the Sunday Reader. His self-depricating humor always leads to a heart-warming life lesson.

Both columns are wonderful islands of laughter and hope in what can often be pretty depressing news. Bravo for the Daily News for including these entertaining writers.
