BG man arrested after thefts from cars reported

A Bowling Green man was arrested early Monday on suspicion of stealing items from a number of parked cars.

According to the Bowling Green Police Department, an investigation into thefts from vehicles in the Cave Mill Station area led to Charlie Porter being identified as a suspect.

Police took Porter, 36, into custody after a short foot pursuit, and a search of his vehicle turned up numerous stolen items, syringes, stolen checks, drugs and drug paraphernalia, BGPD said.

Porter was arrested on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth), third-degree burglary, trafficking in financial information, theft of contents from a vehicle, second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), third-degree criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia.
