One killed in Logan crash, charges possible

Alcohol was a factor in a crash Saturday morning in Logan County that left one person dead, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

Darcy Fournier of Cross Plains, Tennessee, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 10:44 a.m. near the intersection of Friendship Road and Franklin Road.

The sheriff’s office said deputies upon arriving at the scene found two severely damaged vehicles off the roadway, and the drivers of each vehicle had to be extricated.

Fournier’s vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Roger Carrol, of Portland, Tennessee, and traveling the opposite direction.

Carrol’s vehicle crossed the center line and hit Fournier’s vehicle head on, the sheriff’s office said.

Carrol was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital and later to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment.

The sheriff’s office said criminal charges will be submitted to Logan County Commonwealth’s Attorney Neil Kerr.
