Greenwood senior Ella Whittle helped set the tone for the Lady Gators in the Region 4 Girls’ Soccer Tournament with a pair of goals in Monday’s 4-0 win over Warren East.

Whittle scored both of her goals during a four-goal barrage in the first half that allowed Greenwood to take control and advance to the region semifinals.

While it was a big night for Whittle, she was quick to credit her teammates for her success.

“It wasn’t just me,” Whittle said. “My teammates helped me. I just (put) it in the back of the net, but I had teammates that helped me get there.”

Greenwood was scheduled to face Russellville in the semifinals Wednesday, with the winner advancing to Thursday’s championship.
