Rue McClanahan visited the Western Kentucky University campus Oct. 5, 2003, and in a speech often riddled with whistles and catcalls from the enthusiastic crowd, she advised that “the best exercise you can get is frequent sex. If you can’t have frequent sex, lift weights.”

The award winning actress and breast cancer survivor made an appearance to advocate for the importance of maintaining one’s body using diet and exercise, keeping a positive attitude and never allowing yourself to be defined or restricted by your age.
