Book banning is scary trend

I was watching the news last night and they showed a map of the country and all the states banning books. This is done to “protect” kids and adults. This is the worst possible thing that can be done.

There are books in the library that I would never read but it is my right to decide for myself and children. “Harry Potter” has been banned for witchcraft. What I read was fantasy and imagination. Kids rarely read anything today besides screens. Take away the interesting books and no one will read.

Hitler banned books, that’s what dictators do. They don’t want anyone to have ideas. Ray Bradbury wrote “Fahrenheit 451.” It is set in the future where all books are banned. Is this the future we want? Protect everyone from everything? War, history, conflicts … anything that caused pain. That’s what life is all about. Learning things you aren’t familiar with. Open a book and read. Widen your horizons.
