On May 4, 1953, the Park City Daily News reported that two people stole a safe from the Bowling Green Auto Wreckers Company office. The thieves attempted to carry the 400-pound safe, but only made it 200 feet.

Their plan was then to roll the safe, but another 200 feet was all they could manage. They destroyed the safe with a sledgehammer and a chisel. Inside the safe was $100 in change.
