Barren County’s softball team is off to a stellar start this season, sporting a perfect 12-0 mark so far.

Junior right fielder Riley Reed has been in the middle of the Trojanettes’ highly-productive lineup all season. Situated in the No. 3 spot in the batting order, Reed kept doing what’s she’s been doing all season – driving in runs. In a 15-5 win over Russellville, she tallied two RBIs. Then in a 7-0 win over district rival Allen-County Scottsville, Reed drove in four more to bring her season total to a team-high 27 RBIs.

“I have everybody to back me up, so I feel really confident when I get up there,” Reed said.

Reed is batting .512 this season with a pair of home runs.

Barren County visits Glasgow on Thursday.
