Hot Rods win season opener at Asheville

Junior Caminero had five hits – including a home run – and four RBIs to lead the Bowling Green Hot Rods to a 10-0 opening-night win over the Asheville Tourists on Thursday at McCormick Field in Asheville, N.C.
Mathew Dyer added two hits – including a homer – and three RBIs for the Hot Rods, who pounded out 16 hits. Bowling Green raced out to a 7-0 lead after four innings and cruised from there.
Bowling Green starter Ben Peoples allowed just two hits over four innings. Victor Muñoz (1-0) pitched three scoreless innings in relief to earn the win, allowing one hit and two walks, with two strikeouts.
The Hot Rods and Tourists were set to play the second game of the three-game-series on Friday.
