On December 5, 2000, the Park City Daily News reported that the first digital library facility in the state would be opening in Bowling Green. “Contractors are putting the finishing touches on the third of a four-phase renovation of the old L&N Depot on Kentucky Street.” “The branch will be like any other library in that people can use its services there and check them out to use at home, but that’s where any similarities end. The branch will focus on technology and be heavy on computers.” The original plan was for 48 computers in an adult technology center to be available by April 6, 2001.
