On November 11, 1918, the Park City Daily News reported: “A comely woman of forty-five, describing herself as Mrs. Alvy Cobb, of Hopkinsville, is being sought by local police as the owner of a trunkful of whiskey confiscated at the L & N station Sunday morning.”
The woman denied the trunk was hers. Police Chief Potter could not take a warrant out for the woman because he was not sure about the contents of the trunk. By the time he did get a warrant, Mrs. Cobb had paid her hotel bill and left town.
