A man was shot to death Monday night during an altercation in Hart County, leading to the arrest of another man on a murder charge.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers received a call at 5:44 p.m. Monday regarding a shooting at a residence on Eve Highway in the Magnolia community.

Preliminary investigation indicated that Dennis Wells, 62, of Magnolia, was involved in an argument with William Kelleher, 31, of Glasgow, and Wells brandished a firearm and shot Kelleher multiple times, KSP said.

Kelleher was transported to Baptist Health Hardin Hospital in Elizabethtown and then flown to University of Louisville Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Wells was booked into Hart County Jail under a $250,000 cash bond.
